What is a gas detector?
Regarding gas detectors questions and answers:
1, Gas Detector is a gas detecting device, not an gas analyzer. It only can detect if there is gas leakage (for LED alarming models) or the leaking concentration (for LCD showing models). While gas analyzer is using for analyzing which kind gas are leaking or how much concentration of each gas in that place, where there are many gases are combined. If you need a gas analyzer, our below models are gas detectors, they are not your needing.
2, For combustible gas detector (excluding multi-gas detector), it is very useful for us to know where you use and which kind main gas (target gas) you want to detect in that place. We need to know this information to calibrate the gas detector by that gas during production. This gas detector after calibrated is more sensitive to that gas, while not very sensitive to other gases.
For example, we can't make it both for natural gas and LPG calibrated when producing, because gas sensor is with selectable feature. It means one gas sensor on gas detector only can be calibrated to test one kind main gas. If we make it both for natural gas and LPG, it is not professional, and will affect the sensitivity of the gas detector. If only for one target gas, the gas detector will be with highest sensitivity.
Yes, our gas detector can be used to detect different combustible gas (EX gas), but it can be utmost sensitive to only one kind combsutible gas, while not very sensitive to other EX gases.
If user/buyer doesn't tell us the target gas detected, we generally calibrate the gas detector by target gas as natural gas or LPG.
